We’re proud to be recognised among 250 leading companies working to power a more resilient, sustainable, and better future for our world. As just 1 of the 9 UK companies featured (and only 1 of 2 in the Data & Analytics category) on TIME’s Top GreenTech Companies, this recognition reflects the growing importance and potential of space-based data applications in tackling some of the biggest climate challenges..
What does it take to stop climate change?
“Green technology (also green tech): technology whose use is intended to mitigate or reverse the effects of human activity on the environment.” - Oxford English Dictionary.
With average global temperatures increasing year on year, the need to find and develop new solutions that can minimise the impacts of human activity on the planet and the public is more critical than ever.
GreenTech, with its dual focus on innovation and sustainability, is a burgeoning sector whose mission is to do just that. From insects and autonomous lorries, to battery-powered aircraft and edible fruit coatings, there’s no limit to the ways we can use tech to address the host of climate problems we’re facing across the globe.
Turning temperature into action.
According to TIME, they partnered with data firm Statista to consider the “positive impact, financial strength, and innovation of more than 8,000 companies developing products, services, or technologies to reverse the impact of human activities on the planet”.
From detecting urban heat islands to monitoring industrial activity from orbit, SatVu is on a mission to use high-resolution thermal data from space to create a safer and more sustainable Earth.
Our tech is quite literally turning temperature into action. So, it’s great to see the world is taking note! After all, if we’re to have the maximum impact, having that recognition, support and of course, data to back it up means everything;
“We’re delighted to be named as one of TIME’s World’s Top Greentech Companies 2025. As 1 of just 9 UK companies on the list, we certainly feel a huge responsibility to build on this recognition, and continue to prove that the UK’s GreenTech solutions really do deserve a place on the global stage.
The future of the world is in our hands - so we must do everything we can to improve it. For SatVu, that means providing leaders, decision-makers, governments, and the public, with high-resolution data to help them take smarter, faster action on climate change, no matter how small. When it comes to tackling climate change, everything little helps.
It’s great to see our customers, investors and statistics backing us, as we blaze ahead on a pathway to power a more sustainable future with accurate, insightful space-based thermal data. With thanks to the SatVu team and our stakeholders, for your continued hard work, and thermal data activism!” - SatVu CEO, Anthony Baker.
